Primitive Rug Hooking is a craft that was born in the 1800’s. Some think it was carried to America with the immigrants from England, Scandinavia, and Scotland to the English colonies. It was born out of the need to warm homes by covering the cold, mostly dirt floors and hearths while adding a spot of beauty. Rug hooking is basically a stress-free art - like coloring, except using beautiful wool strips instead of crayons. First you’ll discover the equipment, supplies, and techniques. Then, you’ll jump right into the fun of hooking your small mat. Wrap it up with everything you need to know in order to hook and finish your 5"x5” art piece! Choose from a flower, sheep, snowman, or pumpkin. Bring a small scissors. Ages 16 and up.
Fee: $49.00
