Backpacking and Camping Adventure for Beginners at Newton Hills

Want to learn how to go backpacking? Get experience close to home at Newton Hills State Park! Gear and training is provided: backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads. Hike a few miles with loaded packs on the Woodland trail, Turkey Trot Trail, and visit the lookout tower. Set up camp and prepare your meal just like you would on a backpacking trip (on provided cooktops). Enjoy a campfire and the beautiful night sky. You will be hiking unpredictable, sometimes steep, forest trails, while carrying a backpack. Be sure you are physically able. Bring your own food/drinks.18 & up (14 & up with participating adult). Booking includes equipment and site rentals and is non-refundable.
