Have you heard about the benefits of probiotic foods, but you're not sure where to start? Looking for ways to increase the shelf life of garden produce or fresh herbs? Learn to ferment! In this hands-on workshop, you'll enhance your chef's knife skills, taste and create unique flavor combinations, and learn how to preserve seasonal herbs and produce through the art of home fermentation. All participants will take home their very own jar of sauerkraut and a kombucha SCOBY to get started brewing at home. Ages 16 & up (under 16 with a participating adult)

Rachel is a registered nurse who is passionate about supporting others to find true health and flourishing at home. After spending ten years battling autoimmune disease and chronic pain herself, she embarked on a journey of natural healing which led her to the garden and the kitchen. In collaboration with functional medicine practitioners, health coaches, and herbalists, Rachel has since taught nutrition, cooking, and gardening techniques to support healthier people and a healthier planet at farmers markets, schools, and in diverse communities throughout New Jersey. She is excited to share her fresh flavor and fresh perspective with her hometown community of Sioux Falls.
