Saw Curling in the Olympics which peaked your interest and now you're ready to try it out? The instructors of Sioux Falls Curling will show you how by teaching you all you need to know to play the game! Over the duration of this three week course, you will learn the rules and history of this 500 year old sport, hone your stone throwing skills and test your new skills in an informal Curling match! Bundle up and get ready to get out on the ice! Adjustments available for many abilities. Equipment provided. Ages 12 and up.
Summary:
Week 1: Classroom. 1-1.5hrs. History, rules, floor curlining, strategy, science, preview of skills learned on ice next week.
Week 2: Skills. On ice 1.5hrs. Stone delivery, sweeping, applying a curl, 1-2 ends of play at end. Instructor guided.
Week 3: Game Day! On ice 1.5hrs. Play as many ends as possible in allotted time. Instructors available for help and questions.
