Have your idea but unsure about all the technical, legal, accounting stuff? This hybrid class will cover everything from forming a business, the business structure (LLC, Sole Proprietor, etc.), choosing an accessible name, registration (IRS and touch on state), sales & use tax information, when to open a bank account, insurance and bookkeeping software ideas. Practice researching these items on government websites to ensure the information you seek is accurate and trusted. The course goal is to provide needed business start up direction and a task list of all that needs to be done so you know what you can tackle yourself and what you may wish to hire out.

In a kick-off Introduction Class Zoom Meeting, Sarah will share how the 3 week self-paced online course is designed and how to communicate with the local instructor. From there, weekly check-ins will keep your questions answered and keep you connected, motivated and accountable. Anticipated completion time: 2-3 weeks.

Sarah Young, Align Bus Development

Sarah has been in the bookkeeping & accounting business for over 18 years learning what works and what doesn't when creating and running a small business. Some common factors she's noticed are the lack of time, the many different hats we wear at all times (wanted or not wanted) and the difficulties in passing things to employees or outsourcing. She chose to create a bigger impact through teaching others with the exact proven process she created to help more businesses online. "Being in similar shoes as most small businesses, I've seen and pushed through my own small business struggles and would love to pass those findings along to others. Over the years I've learned what works and what doesn't when it comes to book-work, business, and planning. That is exactly why I created Align Business Development. I want to create a community of people like me - who have a desire to make an impact, and are willing to put in the work to make it happen."
