Outdoor Journaling & Sketching
If you've ever wanted to corral, in words, the sunset, the image of leaf shadows dancing across your kitchen cabinets, or describe how you feel on hearing the call of a great-horned owl at dusk, learn how to harness your emotional and creative responses to nature! From garden writing, to birding or just walking the neighborhood, explore ways to keep your writings fresh and vibrant through the use of metaphor and imagery. A small portion of the class will focus on collecting physical images and specimens in a notebook/journal to use as creative prompts. Bring an unlined journal or sturdy paper at least 5x7 inches or larger and a small pack of colored or charcoal pencils for simple sketching. No artistic talent required! Join author Georgia Totten for this outdoor journaling class!
