Join Sioux Empire Paddlers on this exciting guided tour on the Big Sioux River! From water safety to transporting equipment, entering the river to maneuvering in moving waters; enjoy a lazy afternoon kayaking with family and friends as you meander along the lovely Sioux River. Bring a camera for wildlife and the scenic panoramas of South Dakota as you explore! Wear water appropriate clothing - you may get a little wet! Basic swimming skills required. All equipment needed is provided including paddles, life jackets, and boats. Max weight - 250 lbs. Ages 16 and up for single-person kayak.
**There may be portaging due to bridge construction. Please be aware that you may be asked to 'team carry' your kayak for a portion around construction.

Planned Launch Spot. Farm Field Park.
Choose to either shuttle with the Instructors or to provide your own shuttling.
Shuttle/Transportation Ideas on your own.
-Have family member or friend drop you off and pick you up afterwards.
-Arrange to leave a car at the exit location.
-Call an Uber to take you to from the exit to your car at Farm Field Park Launch.
-Bike! Lock up your bike at the exit spot beforehand and after your lovely trip down the river, just ride the beautiful bike trail along the river right back to your car at Farm Field Park. Should be about a 30 min ride. Make sure you have your water bottle and hat.
